After the sucess of Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Motors has decided to increase their line-up in the Indian market. Currently, only Honda City VXI, Honda Civic and Honda Accord happen to be the only contenders in the Indian auto-market, from the house of Honda.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the base model of the all new Honda Jazz would cost around $14,757, which would be about 698,000 INR, while the top-end version would cost 733,000 INR. This would be quite close to their latest Honda City VXI. However, it would fall under the league of the small fuel-efficient cars, such as the Skoda Fabia, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent, and the likes of them.

Despite the global recession, the car sales in the Asian markets, especially the Indian auto-market have been pretty good, in the last four months. As a result, Honda has decided to make some serious bucks by making use of such an excellent opportunity.

What’s more, Honda plans on launching another similar small-size fuel-efficient car in the Indian market, which would be even cheaper than the Honda Jazz. It would target the low-income level car-users, who need high-mileage small cars.

Coming back to the Honda Jazz, Mr. Takedagawa made the intentions of the company pretty clear that they’ll be eyeing the 20,000 mark in terms of sale of Jazz cars by the end of March 2010.

Furthermore, production will be started in parts of Greater Noida after the sales pick up, and the demand of this car grows higher in the market.
