What is the car part that the transmission cable attaches to which connects to the transmission called?

I have a 1986 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that the transmission cable (from the steering column) keeps slipping off the transmission end of the cable. I need to replace the rubber part the cable attaches to, but don’t know what it is called.
Not the shift cable, but the part the shift cable attaches to on the transmission end of the shift cable.
