Is a throttle blip necessary during downshifts when you have a slipper clutch?

I own a 2008 Honda CBR1000RR, which comes standard with a slipper clutch. Is it necessary to still blip the throttle during downshifts when you have one of these? I find that it’s pretty smooth regardless.
